Everybody, meet my little newborn niece...erm, dunno her name, she's not been given one yet. But we all call her HOLIDAY, eversince she was in her mummy's womb. Cos "Ho" is her surname. A cute little thing, she is. She's jus got this dazed look most of the time, except when she wants milk or when she wets her diapers. Gynae says that's common when mummy's been given pain killer in the course of delivery.

My sis went through a lot of pain to give birth to her. Baby was overdue, and she delivered at 41 weeks. (For the uninitiated, it's typically a 40-weeks pregnancy) She had her first contraction 5 Sept morning and was subsequently admitted to Mount Alvernia Hospital and waited. It was really an agonizing wait as her contractions became more and more intense and more frequent. It was scary, really. My sis cried form the pain. I wasn't there, but from what my bro-in-law described, it just reinforces my decision to go for c-sec, should it be my turn one day. (And I especially hate it when my MIL tries to brain-wash me to go for natural delivery! Angry angry!!)

Eventually, her cervix wasn't sufficient dilated by 4am the next morning and the gynae ordered a caesarian. It was done in a jifty and the baby was born at 4.31am on 6th Sept 05 at 3.25kg. Not really that big but not small either. Most of the other babies in the baby room was much tinier, she had the darkest and thickest hair there too.

I just hope for a hassle free pregnancy....choose a date to deliver, get wheeled into the operating theatre....sleep and wake up with the little thing in my arms. Haha!
